Osh is southern Kyrgyzstan's main city and the practical base for trips across the Fergana Valley, into Alay, toward Arslanbob and onward to the Pamir Highway. It works well as a logistics stop: the airport sits close to town, taxis usually take about 15–20 minutes, and marshrutka 107 links the airport with the central bazaar area.
